A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, winning just one match at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him dropping out of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents his first title after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from March of that year.

"It's the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

The player's defensive play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the last five games to go ahead.

The competitors swapped breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to create a third set.

The opponent saved 4 early-game break points in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he secured victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent failing to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
